THINGS TO PACK

First, avoid over packing. Nothing worse than carrying around a bunch of stuff you don't need. You may find yourself pulling your kayak out of the water to go around obstacles or through a low water section. Every extra pound counts. That said, don't skimp on what you feel you truly need.
HERE IS A LIST OF ITEMS YOU SHOULD CONSIDER CARRYING
  • Life Vest (PFD) (You're not that cool. Wear one.)
  • Whistle
  • Small first aid kit
  • A cellphone in a watertight protective case.
  • Sunscreen.
  • Bug repellent.
  • A flashlight
  • Emergency rain jacket
  • Water & Snacks.
  • Hand santizer
  • Wet wipes (optional)
  • Small towel in a dry bag
  • A small knife
  • Extra rope. Many uses.
  • Water shoes with a hard sole.
  • TP. When you gotta go... don't use your friends shirt.
  • Watertight dry bags to carry your stuff.
